With a 15 year anniversary in 2012, my employer decided that it would be a good idea to revamp their logo and bring it into line with something that better reflected what their business truly is: custom, well-built homes. The old logo had served them well, but it was clearly time for change.
After rounds and rounds of revisions, I helped craft a horizontal version of the logo for general use, and then a vertical version as well (for special cases, where the horizontal logo would not work). This way, the company identity can remain consistent across a variety of media and uses (clothing, print, web, etc) without compromise. To ensure this, I created a logo usage guideline document, outlining acceptable colors, white spacing around the logo, and more. No longer will there be any confusion as to how someone should place the logo, or where!
After the logo was hashed out, I forged ahead with a company identity revamp — new business cards, a new look for the website, and more. The website redesign is being implemented now, and should be live after soon.
