Handelabra iPhone icons
I’ve been hard at work with the people from Handelabra Studio, makers of fine iOS-based applications. My first foray into the world of iPhone has been enlightening, and I am looking forward to working with them more!
The icons were created from a list provided by Handelabra so that all the needs of their app would be met. Some had a brief description of what they wanted, but many of them are entirely my interpretation of what they needed.
The initial drawing was taken from rough sketches I did, then re-created in Illustrator as outlines. That’s right, no coloring was done in Illustrator. These outlines were brought into Photoshop, layer by layer, and colored/treated in order to arrive at the work you see here.
Another project from the Handelabra folks, I’ve cranked out the final version of the micro website for an app of theirs, Couplett (oh, I did the logo as well). I haven’t done a one-pager in a while, and it was a nice change of pace.
There are challenges that go with a one-page site that aren’t considerations for a “standard” site. Normally, one has pages for Home, Contact, About, and some Content. One a one-page site, that all has to be distilled down into (obviously) one page — without looking or feeling cluttered and pinched. It still has to breathe.
Think about that next time you visit a page, and say to yourself, “That’s it?” Because odds are, even more work went into it than you think.
